Review: Ramp Champ for iPhone
by admin on Sep.21, 2009, under Ipod, Software
Ramp Champ’s gameplay couldn’t be more simple: you flick your finger to toss a ball up a ramp and up onto a game board, all in an attempt to hit objects labeled with various point values. Clear the right objects and more objects appear, leading to even bigger point totals. You have nine balls to toss; when you’re done, you receive tickets (yes, the old tear-off red kind) based on your performance. You can use tickets to buy virtual prizes at the carnival gift shop, and stock your virtual trophy wall. Denizens of 1980s arcades may remember these fellows.
The game comes with four built-in levels, each with an array of sound effects and lovingly depicted objects. Each level comes with a series of challenges of escalating difficulty, and you receive a trophy for each challenge you complete. For example, I got a trophy once I cleared all four seahorses out of Breakwater Bay and then hit the opened clamshell twice, dislodging a black pearl.
Flood-It Pro for iPhone

Flood-It Pro, a $1 game from LabPixies with a free lite version, is an engaging tile-based puzzle game. Presented with a 12-by-12 grid sporting six colors of tiles, you need to work methodically to flood the entire game board with one solid color. Color Coordinated: In Flood-It Pro, you’re trying to fill an entire 12-by-12 grid with one color in as few turns as possible.
Flooding begins from the top left corner. Every time you tap a colored circle on the bottom of the screen, the top left color changes, as does every connected tile with the same original color. On each turn, an increasing percentage of the board takes on your last chosen color. You want to fill the entire board with one color in as few turns as possible.
